Azzura was founded in 1977 by people who understood that the most important moments in a client relationship rarely happen in an office. They happen elsewhere - over dinner, on the water, in the margins of a journey. Getting those moments right, quietly and without fuss, has been our purpose ever since.
For nearly five decades we have worked with private banks, family offices, hospitality groups, and select institutions across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. The work has always been the same: ensuring that the people who matter most to our partners are looked after properly, and that the institutions we serve never have to think twice about how it was done.
For a period in the 1980s and 1990s, Azzura maintained a small presence in the international press - most notably the International Herald Tribune - before returning to the exclusively private model we operate today. It was a different era, and a different kind of visibility. What it produced, above all, was a network of long-standing relationships that remain the foundation of everything we do.
We have never relied on marketing in the conventional sense. Our reputation has been built through the organisations we work with and the standards we maintain - which is, we think, the only reputation worth having.
The world our clients move in has changed considerably since 1977. The expectations of ultra-high-net-worth individuals have grown. The complexity of serving them discreetly across multiple jurisdictions has increased. What has not changed is the fundamental nature of what we do, or the care with which we do it.
We work with a small number of partners at any one time. Some of those relationships stretch back decades. New partnerships are formed carefully, and only where there is a genuine alignment of standards and expectations on both sides.
We are proud of what we have built - though you will rarely hear us say so.
